Well after 2 years we are going again.
Just the 3 of us turned up. With a coffee break at Pen Ponds car park we were back at the station by 12.
Ride praised for varied scenery : Surrey from Richmond Hill, London from Richmond Park and Marble Hill house across the river from the tow path.
Meet outside Richmond Station 10.30.
A short bit of nasty traffic (sorry) but we soon turn onto back streets for a bit of a climb which is rewarded as the view opens out to most of Surrey. Into Richmond Park and a traffic-free (at weekends) road with more views. Another traffic-free climb to White Lodge – 18c Royal property now home of Royal Ballet School rewarded by a coffee break overlooking Pen Ponds. Return along the improved river path.
Only 8 miles and the moderate hills give great views.
If you are thinking of coming please let me know Paul
