The Thames towpath from Mortlake Brewery to Barnes Bridge has been notorious for its poor surface and liability to flooding. Richmond council have now extended the paved section at a higher level as far as Barnes Bridge. An oral inspection of this gift horse might point out the narrowness of the paving ( about 1.5m ) and the poor quality of the original paving at the Brewery end.
